Family Engagement and Investors in Families
The Family Engagement Officer is Damian Petts, he is contactable at school and also has a dedicated phone line to speak to parents and carers about the following aspects of school and pupil wellbeing:
- regular attendance at school
- sharing information with you about your child's progress
- sharing information about school events
- signposting to services and information
- supporting you to participate in school events and share your feedback so we can improve

Investors in Families
IIF is a quality mark that recognises the work that schools and other settings undertake with families to improve outcomes for children and young people.
There are 7 core aims in the quality mark that supports Ty Gwyn to work with parents and carers in a structured and planned way that benefits both their children and their family life and aims to:
- Value and support the important role that families play in the life of the child
- Promote social inclusion and a sense of wellbeing through positive participation in the child’s education
- Provide a structure for schools and other settings to demonstrate their commitment to the Rights to Action agenda
- Encourage a whole-setting approach to working with families
- Enable schools to network and share good practice
