  • Christmas Celebrations 2023 at Ty Gwyn

    Wed 22 Nov 2023

Everyone is cordially invited to our Christmas Fete on 7th December, 10.30am in the School Hall!

Christmas Dinner is in school on 13th December and we will combine this with Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day and donations for this of £1 are invited.

There will be an end of term reward trip, this will be by invitation as not every pupil will be able to access this based on pupils showing engagement, safe and respectful behaviour this term. We will contact parents and carers individually re this.

Thankyou all, hope to see you on 7th!

  • Into Film Festival 2023 🎥 🍿

    Thu 16 Nov 2023

Ty Gwyn has Film Club weekly as part of our Enrichment Programme and many of our learners enjoy a range of fun, comical and adventure movies (age appropriate of course!).

We also participated in this year’s Into Film Festival and enjoyed watching “The Rise of Gru” together in the cinema. KS3 and 4 did some great reviews, with a prize for the best one and we’ve sent them to Into Film hoping we win one of their prizes!

  • Anti-bullying week 2023

    Sun 12 Nov 2023

    Make a noise about bullying!

The theme of anti-bullying week is "make a noise about bullying", what do we mean by that, what can we do?

We will look at the difference between bullying and banter, what being a bystander means and the actions we can take in school and the community in our form time groups and assembly.

    Always remember YOU can:

    See something, say something!

Say it’s not ok, say stop!

Let a target know they aren’t alone. Ask if they’re ok, ask if they’d like your help with dealing with it, or simply say hi!

Let an adult know what’s going on. Tell them what you’ve seen or heard. They’re here to help!

  • Remembrance Day Assembly

    Fri 10 Nov 2023

Today we marked both Armistice Day and Remembrance Day in school and shared the beautiful poem “The Fallen” by Laurence Binyon. This was written during the First World War and we respectfully remembered the sacrifice of all those who fought for our freedoms.
The behaviour of all learners was exemplary and to be noted.
