Holocaust Memorial Day 2025
Mon 27 Jan 2025Ty Gwyn held a very solemn and heartfelt assembly to mark Holocaust Memorial Day with our visitor Martin Silezin.
He told the story of a friend and how his family were abducted to a concentration camp to threaten him into joining the German Army.
There was a sad outcome to the story and Mr Silezin made the point that whilst it may seem some time ago and those involved may be elderly and frail now, remember their strength, their courage and integrity. Well done to everyone who was respectful and polite, thank you Mr Silezin.

Great news re our pupils’ exam success!
Mon 20 Jan 2025Ty Gwyn is proud to share news re the positive exam results achieved by our Year 11 pupils in the summer of 2024.
The comparative exam data from learners in PRUs across Wales is published every January.
As you would expect in a specialist provision, we have a wide range of children and young people joining us at different stages of their education, some facing real challenges in their lives.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff and the support of our families, the cohort achieved more than double the Welsh national average for learners attending a PRU in their exam points (called the capped 9 score) and well above the Welsh national average in literacy, numeracy and science points. This means all our learners were able to move to their post 16 choices with great pride and all their potential!
Well done to everyone!
